Mandy has over twenty years experience as a freelance tutor. She has experience at all levels and abilities from eight to eighty usually teaching various jewellery making techniques, felt making and papier mache. Over the last few years she has been a mentor to students attending the Craft Angels Network scheme run by Model House, passing on her teaching skills to graduates wanting to work in community arts - she also delivered the business skills workshops for the scheme. She endeavours to enable students to create to a professional standard and to complete projects that will give confidence and perhaps spark further interest and new adventures. She enjoys the bonding experience that occurs when people are working creatively in a group which is often absent in isolated practice.

'Precious Memories' at Craft in the Bay, Cardiff
Saturday and Sunday 18th and 19th October, 2008, 11am - 5pm
Cost: £80
Create a memento to hang on a wall to capture the memory of a special person or event either for yourself or as a gift.
You will be using several techniques in this workshop; felting, stitch and print to create a collage. You can incorporate a favourite photo, fabric and objects into your design.
Good preparation is vital to the success of this workshop so the tutor will contact you prior to the course to discuss your ideas in order to prepare images and your chosen materials.

Felt School at Model House Craft and Design Centre, Llantrisant
23rd- 27th February, 2009, 10.30am - 4.30pm
Cost: £155
An opportunity to immerse yourself in feltmaking for a whole week and get to grips with a variety of techniques including flat felt, nuno, 3d and needle felt using different fleeces and fabrics. The course will be suitable for both beginners and those that have attended previous courses. The tutor will discuss each students' requirements in advance and design the course to suit their needs.
Students will initially create samples to understand each technique and then will be able to develop their own projects to create bags, scarves, vessels, hats and wallhangings by the end of the week. The cost includes materials - extra materials will be available to buy if you want to work on large or special projects.
