May

I've just returned from a wonderful trip to Italy! I was part funded by Wales Arts International to attend the International Feltmakers Association conference, the 'Feltrosa' symposium and the opening of the exhibition 'The Climate is Changing' at the museum of textiles in Prato. The whole event was totally disorganised in a very Italian way but was truly exciting and inspirational. I attended workshops by Jeanette Sendler and Heidi Greb and met many of my feltmaking heroines including Annette Quentin Stolle and Mollie Littlejohn. It was also a great honour to have a piece of my work selected for the exhibition. You can have a giggle watching me talk about my work in a silly hat (along with other exhibitors) at

Since my return, frustratingly, I haven't had the time to make any felt using my new found knowledge - I've had to concentrate on making jewellery to restock the WMC!

April

Wonderwool

24th and 25th April 2010

Wonderwool was great fun again with lots of inspirational products to buy. This year I had some wonderful hard working students in my workshop (Nuno Felt) who produced some fantastic pieces. There is an article in the latest IFA newsletter, 'Felt Matters'.

I have also created new felt work and jewellery for'Enchanted Heritage' with my textile group, MaP, an exhibition which was shown at Llantarnam Grange in Cwmbran. This work is inspired by the collection at the National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon, where selected were also exhibited.

I launched a new range of jewellery at the British Craft Trade Fair at Harrogate in April which is already selling well at the Makers Guild outpost at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
